We offer a range of services and valuations for any purpose including probate and insurance or just to find an item’s value.

We cover the whole of the South East and beyond, working with several local solicitors.

Our prices for a written valuation start from £150+ VAT.

As an auction house, we play a key role in the probate valuation process in several ways:

1. Assessment of Assets:

  • Inventory: We conduct a thorough inventory of the items included in the estate, which may consist of (but are not limited to) fine art, antiques, collectibles, jewellery, watches, furniture, vehicles, and other valuable items. This can be from a singular item through to a house-full. Valuations are carried out by our senior valuer who will photograph the items, and then give accurate values at the current auction prices.

    2. Documentation:

    • Valuation Reports: After assessing the items, we compile a valuation report. These are formal documents that outline the estimated value of each item and serve as official records for the probate process. Please note we only value individual items over £50 for probate, if the value of an item is below £50, It is accumulated at the bottom of the probate valuation.
    • Tax Reporting: These reports are essential for tax purposes, including estate tax filings, as they provide the necessary documentation for the estate executor or administrator.

    4. Auction Sales:

    • Selling Assets: Once the valuation is complete, we offer a full house clearance service, where we facilitate the sale of items through auction. We offer this service at an additional cost, which our valuer will be able to quote when preparing the probate valuation.
    • Transparency: Auction sales are transparent and can often achieve competitive prices, benefitting the beneficiaries.

    5. Professionalism and Confidentiality:

    • We ensure that all valuations and sales are handled with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality, respecting the sensitivities involved in dealing with a loved one’s estate.

    6. Closing the Estate:

    • After lots are sold, we account promptly, providing a detailed list of lots sold to assist the executors when finalising the probate process.

    Conclusion:

Probate valuation is a meticulous process, and as an auction house, we are equipped to provide both expertise and service to ensure that this process is handled smoothly.

We understand that the probate process can be a very difficult and stressful task at such an emotional time. We try to minimise stress and make the process as simple as we can.
